VATSIM Online Pilot (P1 Certification)

The VATSIM Online Pilot course prepares you for the flying on the VATSIM network. Pilots completing the course will earn the VATSIM P1 rating.
Requirements
Students taking the VATSIM P1 course must successfully pass the written exam upon completion of the training materials. In addition, a practical exam must be completed using MetroAir ACARS while on the VATSIM network.

The practical exam may be completed with up to 3 flights. The pilot is expected to demonstrate flight while communicating with ATC through departure, en-route, and arrival. We at MetroAir realize it isn't always easy to find a flight with full ATC coverage for your full flight, which is why we are allowing for 3 flights to cover this. Once you have met the requirements, contact the training department with the PIREP IDs of the flights which demonstrate your flying with ATC during the 3 phases, and a member of our training department will verify.

Tenured pilots with 150 hours of VATSIM flights with MetroAir Virtual may bypass the practical exam if they achieve a score of 90% on the written exam. If you meet these requirements, please contact the training department indicating you are opting out of the practical exam once you have completed the written exam.
