Introducing The Shuttle

July 31, 2021

Boston, MA — Metro Air is launching MetroAir Shuttle, a new subsidiary targeting business commuters with service to major US hubs including Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Las Vegas, and Toronto.

The operation will deploy 10 Boeing 737-600 aircraft acquired from BlueSquare Airlines. These planes feature new seat-back entertainment systems, expanded overhead storage, and high-speed in-flight WiFi. Each aircraft offers 8 premium seats and 100 economy seats.

From Boston Logan (BOS), MetroAir Shuttle will operate 17 routes serving Chicago (ORD), New York (JFK), Toronto, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Washington DC (DCA). The Los Angeles hub (LAX) will support 15 additional flights to Las Vegas, Santa Barbara, San Francisco, San Diego, Phoenix, San Jose, Fresno, and Bakersfield, with future Texas expansion planned.

Sean Mullineaux stated the larger jets provide "more choice when selecting their onboard experience" and better serve business demand than previous equipment. William Hogarth noted the expansion increases available seats by nearly 39% on popular routes while enhancing passenger comfort.

Repositioning flights commenced August 1, 2021, from Phoenix storage facilities, with scheduled service beginning August 14, 2021.
